A Cowboys Journey to Freedom Building a Website

Here is the 'short' story of my journey in Building a Website.

Wouldn't you rather be doing something you enjoy? Aren't you fearfully weary of bustin' hump at some job that has become an unending, dreary, slog? Wouldn't you like a way to put your knowledge to work and be able to enjoy the work at the same time?

Have you ever dreamed of a 'Way Out'? Have you ever yearned for some way to earn a living that didn't consume your soul? Has your heart ached, like mine, for something that would give you Freedom while feeding that hunger that's been burning inside you for so long?

Have you ever given any thought to an 'Online' Business?

Me too.

I've searched for that 'Way Out', that Freedom, for most of my life. I've always been the square peg in a round hole... Comes from being born in the wrong century... But I'm stubborn too... so I've kept looking.

Several years ago, I was working a custom leather shop... barely eaking out a profit. I kept looking for ways to promote it. There was money spent on magazine advertising... money spent setting up for and traveling to big shows... shipping out brochure after brochure... then, I spent a bundle building a website.

Nothing seemed to click.

I still thought that some online 'thing' was the way to go... I just couldn't find where that 'thing' was.

No matter how hard I worked I never seemed to gain any ground. That 'slog' had left me pretty well whupped. The ordeal of trying to push a 'conventional' business had pretty much burned me out.

I was hunting for 'Options'.... when... like in the old stories... 'Once upon a time', I stumbled across SBI! At the time I was still working my shop, and had recently been 'burned' by the claims of a website designer who promised to have me 'online' in a matter of days... and raking in the 'orders' from HIS building a website for me.

He got my money... quite a bit of it... for building a website... but never produced, not even close, on the promise of 'raking in the orders' or even exposure to thousands of customers via the internet.

Fact is, I don't believe more than a couple of people ever found the website he built me after more than a year. Actually, the search engines had never even found it! I didn't have a clue what to do about it... and after paying him a lot of precious dollars to build a website , I finally figured out... neither did he!

So... when I found SBI! I was juuuuust a mite distrustful. It took me a couple of months of searching out other options... coming back and looking at more of SBI!'s system .... searching again for other options and coming back again... to finally take the plunge and buy my SBI! subscription.

Smartest thing I've ever done.

Here's the bottom line for me... My wife and I had decided that we wanted to make some basic changes in our lives... we wanted to travel a lot but didn't have the independent income to just take off. We needed to come up with something, we could take with us in our travels (full-time RVing) to at least supplement our income.

That need, to be able to take 'It' with us, was the main thing that kept me in pursuit of some sort of an online business. Now I should say right here, that computers and the 'NET' were a couple of things that I hadn't a clue about. But I figured that somehow, someway, there must be a ... WAY! Even for a totally computer illiterate fella like me!

Something else that I required was to be able to work at something that I had a Passion for. I was bone weary of just working at jobs that put beans on the table, at the expense of bending my brain into knots with their unending monotony, and often the requirement to compromise my integrity.

The 'Quiet Desperation' sort of thing that Thoreau wrote about. I Desperately wanted something that would feed my soul... not just my belly.

Well, the rest is history... at this writing, some two years after first stepping off on building a website, I have succeeded in building a website that is well received on the net and making me a profit that significantly supplements our income.

I can see the day... not so far ahead... when the 'strings' holding me to a 'day job' are cut for good. That's a vision of Freedom that, I can tell you, is a Sweet Thing to have in front of you!

I still haven't much of a clue about the inner workings of computers and the 'NET'... I just do what I do... and SBI! does what it does... and what it ... PROMISED... to do... unlike all the others I've found.

That fact, the fact that they made me promises.... and have kept EVERY SINGLE ONE is a big part of the reason I can say, without any hesitation: "I absolutely LOVE SBI!" My only regret is that I didn't start Building a Website a whole lot sooner! I'm not wasting any more time on spilt milk though! I'm catching up in a hurry!

This site, made possible for me by the system built by Ken Evoy and the superb crew of people he has assembled at SBI!, has made a huge change in my life. A huge, Positive change. My SBI! site has opened doors for me that I never knew existed. It has created opportunities for me that have been more personally fulfilling than anything I have done in more than 50 years of 'Wandering in the Wilderness'!
