HOWIE'S Makeover

by Walt and Judy Kaiser
(currently in Oregon)

HOWIE is our 02 HR Endeavor. HOWIE stands for House On Wheels Includes Everything. He came with light green carpet thru out. That was one of the things that went. We put Limestone in the entryway and under the drivers feet, no more bunched up carpet. We also took out the remainder of the carpet and tile from the living area and replaced it with 12mm thick, shaved plantation oak laminate flooring that we got from Lumber Liquidators for $2 per sq ft, 150 sq feet was used. We upgraded the table to an 03 model table with storage cabinets.

While sitting in the desert we decided to get rid of all the woodgrain vinyl in the bedroom and ended up wallpapering the bedroom, We also replaced the light fixtures in the bedroom from wall sconces to gooseneck lights from ITC Marine. All the brass hardware was replaced with rubbed bronzed hardware.

We were sitting in Blythe workamping and decided that the valances and lambrikins needed redone. We bought the material at Joann's fabrics, took the old ones down, took them apart, recovered them and put them back in place.

I needed a desk, so out went the most useless piece of furniture in the coach, the infamous J lounger. I designed a desk to suit my needs and had it built by Sacramento cabinets.

We have replaced both TV's the 27 inch headbanger in the front of the coach was replaced by a Sharp Aquos 1080i LCD, E-bay, $620 including shipping., in the bedroom the 21 inch tube gave way to a 19 inch Sharp Aquos 720 p from Wal-Mart for $279.

The last remodel item was all the countertops were redone by Granite Transformations in Sacramento. When we put in the 03 table unit the corian did not match, so now all countertops in the living area as well as the dresser top and night stands in the bedroom are 1/4 inch thick granite composite.

I have pictures of all if you are interested.

Walt and Judy Kaiser,
02 HR Endeavor, 8 years fulltiming and loving every minute.
