Living in a 5th wheel and Camping in a class B

Ice storms? What are ya goin to do. A tree overweighted with ice crushed my dream home.

I say dream home because of the yard, in the middle of the woods so secluded I can bathe nude in the front yard ......Dream home with a crushed under-insured mobile home in the middle of winter.

Oh well I still got the yard. With little insurance Money and a real need to avoid living at my mother in-laws I bought a 96 Jayco 34 ft single slide 5th wheel. It was great to get us through winter but my wife needed something bigger.

The county would not let us replace our mobile home because of zoning loopholes so I upgraded to a 2004 holiday rambler triple slide and. Wow my wife is still happy in it.

Utility bills under 75 no property tax and movable if I every get the $$$$ for a Teton.

But in the mean time I would like to make this place ultra luxurious. Granite counter top. Hard wood or marble floor wall and ceiling???? White Leather ceiling with mirrors and cool lighting fixtures. Full size fridge stove and real toilet.

Anyone do that kind of over the top renovations? I retire this year and need to make choices. This will be our home base and we hope to find the ideal Class B for our road trips.

***Editor Note; This sort of setup is a pretty Shiny option! ;)

Good thoughts but watch the weight
by: A Texas Cowboy

We have a 5er with the 3 slide outs also, but a few years older. (2001)...

You will maybe have to look into weight problems if you want to do what you are thinking about. Are you going to tote this around or park it someplace and live ion it?

A new floor is one thing, but lots of work. If there is a slide out you have some mods to look into. The marble counter top is going to be added weight also. To much weight may mean larger tires next.

Sounds like you have a nice plan and will be a great project to do. Keep the other half happy and enjoy your venture.
